Introduction to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
(for Swedish version see below)
The General Data Protection Regulation exists to protect individuals' fundamental rights and freedoms, in particular their right to protection of their personal data.
The Swedish Data Protection Authority (DPA) is a public authority. Their task is to protect the individual's privacy in the information society. You can read more about the various parts of the General Data Protection Regulation below.
If the information in English is different from the Swedish version, it is the Swedish version that applies.

Form for request/message
On my website I have a form for request/message. In order to be able to send the message, you have to tick that you agree that your form details (contact details and message) will be saved until I have replied (this is according to a recommendation I read, about web pages and forms, in accordance with the GDPR guidelines).
Explanation of cookies - and my Cookie Policy
From the The Swedish Data Protection Authoritys’ website:
“A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer. There are different types of cookies. A permanent cookie remains on the visitor's computer for a fixed period of time. A session cookie is temporarily stored in the computer's memory while a visitor is on a web page. Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. If you do not want to accept cookies, your browser can be set so that it automatically fails to store cookies, or that you are informed every time a website requests to store a cookie. In your browser you can also delete cookies that have been stored previously. Visit your browser's help pages for more information on this.
This is why I like cookies - on my site
Using cookies provides a good basis for understanding and creating a better experience for my “cyberspace visitors”. What do I need to develop? I also know through Squarespace's tools if something does not work and needs to be corrected. They work actively with security, operation and more. which makes me feel secure - as my competence is closer to humans.
In my case where you are now, on my website, I have cookies to take into the Squarespace Analytics pulse on how my site is doing and performing (read more about Squarespace below). For me, it is interesting to know the number of unique visitors and if they increase when I do, for example, email submissions or posts in social media - where I refer to more information on my site. What percentage of people are browsing through their mobile phones? Do I need to customize mobile more. How many press "Request" or send a message via the form? Are the visitors interested in e.g. The "Video & Podcast" page (where I also post my webinars)?
About Squarespace, the web design platform, and their GDPR work
I have my website through the "web design platform" Squarespace. Below about their GDPR work (before May 2018) when GDPR became a reality for many companies in / with operations in the EU. The following English sections directly from Squarespace's website; I have adapted some text for the purpose and so is consistent with my business.
“What is Squarespace doing to ensure compliance with the GDPR? Over the months leading up to May 2018, we worked across the company to successfully prepare for GDPR. This includes reviewing how we store and use data about our customers and on behalf of our customers. Specifically, we:
Updated Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to be more transparent about our use and treatment of data. Published a Data Processing Addendum, or DPA, to address how we process data on our customers behalf. After a customer accept our updated Terms of Service, the agreement is in effect. Made product changes to give our customer more control over data.”
Two kinds of cookies, about validity and why they are useful
“This website uses cookies and similar technologies, which are small files or pieces of text that download to a device when a visitor accesses a website or app.
These functional and required cookies are always used, which allow Squarespace (Bulls Holdings’ hosting platform) to securely serve this website.
These analytics and performance cookies are used on this site, only when customers acknowledge our cookie banner. We use analytics cookies to view site traffic, activity, and other data.”
1. Functional and Required Cookies
Squarespace uses some necessary cookies because they allow visitors to navigate and use key features on my site. These cookies vary from site to site depending on the features it uses. For example, Functional and Required.
Cookies help these features work at my site/homepage:
Cookie Name: Crumb. Duration: Session. Purpose: Prevents cross-site request forgery (CSRF). CSRF is an attack vector that tricks a browser into taking unwanted action in an application when someone’s logged in. Cookie Name: RecentRedirect. Duration: 30 minutes. Purpose: Prevents redirect loops if a site has custom URL redirects. Redirect loops are bad for SEO (Search Engine Optimization).quarespace-popup-overlayCookie Name: squarespace-popup-overlay. Purpose: Prevents the Announcement Bar from displaying if a visitor dismisses it.Cookie Name: Test. Duration: Session. Purpose: Investigates if the browser supports cookies and prevents errors.
2. Analytics and Performance cookies
…to collect information (for me) about how visitors interact with my site. Storing these cookies is how Squarespace populate the data in Squarespace Analytics, such as traffic sources and unique visitors.

Hur stor andel surfar in via mobilen?
